Question
Chapter 12.9, Problem 3MQ
Summary Introduction
Pathway engineering is the mechanism of assembling biochemical pathways (new or improved) using various genes, which are derived from one or more sources. For example, pathway engineering uses E. coli for production of indigo (a bright blue pigment). The indigo dye is extremely useful in textile industry. This dye can be produced chemically. However, new approaches are used for the production of indigo due to high demand.
