Introduction:
There are three parts in the ear: external ear, middle ear, and inner ear. The inner ear contains several receptors that are important for equilibrium. They can maintain static as well as dynamic equilibrium in response to different body movements. Macula is one such equilibrium receptor, which is located in the vestibule portion of the inner ear.
