Chapter 13, Problem 3TY
Summary Introduction

Introduction

Not every stereotype we form is negative. Sometimes we presume someone is honest or demonstrates some other positive trait because of their group membership. However, while it may not seem so bad to hold positive beliefs about a group, positive stereotypes can actually serve as a disadvantage for both parties. For the stereotype holder, it can be more maladaptive to mistakenly perceive others positively.
