Chapter 14, Problem 12RQ
Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The cerebellum contains a gray matter region called as the cerebral cortex. This region of the brain receives the impulses generating in the neurons of the spinal cord. This coordinates in the control of the movements and the locomotion of the limbs. The patterns of the generation of the impulses in the motor neurons are regulated and controlled by this center in the brain. The layer of the tentorium cerebelli gives protection to the cerebellum and distinguishes it from the cerebral hemispheres in the brain. The neurons carrying the stimulus of impulse in the cerebellum are connected to the transverse pontine fibers.
