Summary Introduction
To determine:
First- through third-order neurons.
Decussation in the ascending tracts.
Relationship between the cerebral hemisphere and the origin of sensory signals from the lower body.
Introduction:
Funiculi are of three types, posterior, lateral, and anterior funiculus on each side of the spinal cord. Each funiculus is subdivided into tracts, the ascending tract, and the descending tract. The ascending tract carries the sensory information towards/upwards the spinal cord, while the descending tracts conduct motor signals down to the spinal cord.
