Interpretation:

The % of the volume of ${\text{Ni}}_{\text{3}}\text{Al}$ that is precipitated in the nickel matrix needs to be determined.

Concept Introduction:

A matrix is a metal composite with a minimum of 2 composite materials among which one should be metal compulsorily and other remaining can be metals or cannot be like ceramic compound, organic compound, etc.

A matrix consists of one reinforcement which is embedded into it and due to structural applications, the matrix is usually lighter metal and provides compliant support for reinforcement.
