The equilibrium concentration of SO3 is 0.600M .

The concentration of SO2 after extra addition is 0.800M .

The equilibrium constant is calculated by the formula,

Kc=[NO][SO3][NO2][SO2] (1)

  • [NO] is the equilibrium concentration of NO .
  • [SO3] is the equilibrium concentration of SO3 .

Substitute the values of a , b and c in the above formula.

x=(34.6)±(34.6)24×1×(2)2×1=34.6±34.712=0.112=0.055

The value if x is 0.055 .

Substitute the value of x   in equation (2).

The equilibrium concentration of NO is =2.00+x=2.000.055=2.055M_

The equilibrium concentration of SO3 is =0.600x=0.6000.055=0.655M_

The equilibrium concentration of NO2 is =0.100x=0.1000.055=0.045M_
