The spinal cord starts form the medulla in the brain stem as well as end at the conus medullaris. The spinal cord together with the brain forms the central nervous system (CNS) of the body. It has a total of 31 segments, each of which is associated with dorsal root ganglia, ventral roots, and dorsal roots.
