➢ The IUPAC name of acid carboxylic is formed in the following way,
● First, write the position of the substituents and after that the substituents name (the substituents are arranged alphabetically).
● Second, write the name of the carbon chain. This name finishes in -oic.
● Finally, the name of the acid ends with the word “acid”.
