To discuss:
Four kinds of brain waves in the EEG, the states in which each type normally dominates the EEG, and the clinical relevance of the EEG.
Introduction:
Electroencephalogram (EEG) is used to record the activities of the brain. It is used to record the brain’s activities by means of electrical impulses. It is performed by placing electrodes attached with the scalp on the brain by passing low voltage current on the wire connected with electrodes. The brain passes the electrical impulses between them; these electric signals are recorded on the computer as wave patterns. These waves are represented as valleys and peaks. These waves represent the normal function of the brain, and also it shows the abnormal functions of the brain such as brain injury, brain tumors, and neurogenerative disorders.
