Introduction:
Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers that are synthesized by the neural fibers and the endocrine glands to elicit the secondary response or stimuli to the target organ sites. Mostly, these neurotransmitters are acetylcholine, norepinephrine, and neuropeptides. In which, norepinephrine is termed as emergency hormone that is secreted by the adrenal gland majorly and by some neural cells to some extent. Norepinephrine (NE) once it has been synthesized and has completed its desired function, it will be degraded in the synaptic cleft of neural cells by the specialized enzymes namely monoamine oxidase (MAO) and catechol-o-methyltransferase (COMT).
