The difference between the cholinergic and adrenergic fibers and where each can be found in the ANS.
Introduction:
Autonomic nervous system and its nerve fibers use to synthesize two different types of neurotransmitter class namely Acetylcholine and Norepinephrine. Acetylcholine is termed as cholinergic and the nerve and receptor which it synthesizes and binds are said to be cholinergic nerve fibers and cholinergic receptors. Norepinephrine is termed to be adrenergic and its respective nerve fibers and receptors are said to be adrenergic nerve fibers and adrenergic receptors. Their main differences and place of location in ANS are discussed below:
