Concept explainers
To explain: The importance of fire to the migration of early Homo species.
Introduction: Evolution is the change in traits of a species over generations, which is mainly dependent on the natural selection.
Explanation of Solution
The discovery of fire by the ancestors brought many benefits to hominids.
Fire helped them in protecting themselves from the terrain. It also helped them in devising an entirely new way of hunting.
Climate change was one of the biggest reasons for some human migrations. Hominids had migrated to several places in search of food and suitable climate, which in one way or another brought changes in their biochemistry, habits, thus evolution took place.
Fire helped the hominids to protect themselves and prepare food.
