The percent ionization of a 0.15M benzoic acid solution in pure water and in 0.10M sodium benzoate solution is to be calculated. The difference in the percent ionization of the two solutions is to be stated.

The higher value of percent ionization of acid in the solution results in the higher conductivity of the solution. The formula to calculate percent ionization of acid is,

    Percentionizationofacid=[A][HA]×100
