Preganglionic neurons are found between T1 (neurons of the thoracic region) and L2 (neurons of the lumbar region) of the spinal cord. Cell bodies of these neurons are located at the lateral horn of the spinal cord between T1 and L2. Their axons enter the ventral root of these segments.
