A molecule that has a tetrahedral atom with four different substituents known as stereocenter is chiral. A stereocenter is also called a chiral or asymmetric center. Chiral compounds exhibit the property of enantiomerism. Enantiomers are stereoisomers that have non-superimposable mirror images.
