Chapter 17, Problem 9CYU
Summary Introduction
To review:
The hormone that stimulates the secretion of glucocorticoids from the adrenal cortex and its production site in the body.
Introduction:
Adrenal cortex is present externally in the adrenal gland surrounding the medulla. It is derived from the somatic mesoderm. It releases sex hormones along with corticosteroids that are lipid-based steroid hormones. It has three distinct layers namely, zona glomerulosa, zona fasciculata, and zona reticularis.
