The regions of the world are divided into four major zones based on the precipitation, amount of solar radiation received, and the air pressure. These areas are equatorial, subtropical subpolar and the polar regions. The equatorial region received maximum solar radiation and high rainfall, whereas the polar regions receive minimum solar radiation and rainfall.
