Program Plan Intro
Map:
- Maps are associative container. It is also called as “key-value” pairs.
- When map class is used in a
program , the header file “#include<map>” should be used. - It does not require more memory.
- There are different types of maps. They are:
- Multimap – they are associative containers.
- Unordered-map – they are unordered associative containers.
Syntax:
map<datatype, datatype> map_Name = {key, value};

How is a map different from other Java data structures?
A
Each data element connects to the next element in the map.
B
It's a data structure that stores data pairs: keys and their associated values.
C
Each data element can connect to multiple related elements in a map.
D
It's a data structure that keeps its data sorted.
A map is a container that stores a collection of ordered pairs, each pair consists of a key and a value, <key, value>. Keys must be unique. Values need not be unique, so several keys can map to the same values. The pairs in the map are sorted based on keys.

- Help with this java question: Map<KeyType, ValueType> mapName = new HashMap<>();arrow_forwardUnique Values This function will receive a single map parameter known as a_map. a_map will contain a single letter as a string and numbers as values. This function is supposed to search a_map to find all values that appear only once in a_map. The function will create another map named to_ret. For all values that appear once in a_map the function will add the value as a key in to_ret and set the value of the key to the key of the value in a_map (swap the key-value pairs, since a_map contains letters to numbers, to_ret will contain Numbers to Letters). Finally, the function should return to_ret. Signature: public static HashMap<String, Integer> uniqueValues(HashMap<Integer, String> a_map) Example: INPUT: {0=M, 2=M, 3=M, 5=M, 6=n, 7=M, 9=M}OUTPUT: {n=6} INPUT: {0=A, 1=c, 2=c, 4=c, 5=a, 8=Q, 9=c}OUTPUT: {A=0, a=5, Q=8}arrow_forwardIn this assignment, you will create a Linked List data structure variant called a “Circular Linked List”. The Node structure is the same as discussed in the slides and defined as follows (we will use integers for data elements): public class Node { public int data; public Node next; } For the Circular Linked List, its class definition is as follows: public class CircularLinkedList { public int currentSize; public Node current; } In this Circular Linked List (CLL), each node has a reference to an existing next node. When Node elements are added to the CLL, the structure looks like a standard linked list with the last node’s next pointer always pointing to the first. In this way, there is no Node with a “next” pointer in the CLL that is ever pointing to null. For example, if a CLL has elements “5”, “3” and “4” and “current” is pointing to “3”, the CLL should look like: Key observations with this structure: The currentSize is 3 meaning there…arrow_forward
