Summary Introduction
Nanoarchaeum equitans belongs to the genus Nanoarchaeum of Archaea. Nanoarchaeum equitans is known as one of the smallest known organism with the smallest genome of 0.49 Mb among Archaea. Korarchaeum cryptofilum belongs to the genus Korarchaeum. Based on the genomic sequence it was observed that K.cryptofilum lacks many genes that encode the proteins involved in the synthesis of purines, Coenzyme A and other essential cofactors.
