The liver is the largest organ present in the body having weight around 1.3 kilogram. The liver is involved in vast number of functions. The liver releases various enzymes for digestion of the constituents of the food. It receives blood from the intestine and hence, performs other functions also such as the removal of toxins and drugs from the blood.
