Interpretation: The formation of
Concept introduction: In ion electron method or the half-reaction method the given equation is written in two parts, one is reduction half-reaction and the other is oxidation half-reaction. Both the reactions are separately balanced and then they are added to give the final balanced equation.
The species with higher value of reduction potential undergoes reduction while the species with lower value of reduction potential undergoes oxidation in comparison to other species.
