Introduction
The infant mortality rate for black people in America is twice the rate of white infants. The life expectancy of blacks is lower for both men and women than for white individuals. The median income of whites is fourteen times higher than that of blacks, which translates to less access to quality healthcare for black families. A black man is nine times more likely to be murdered than a white man. Fewer black people report symptoms of depression when they are experienced.
