Chapter 18, Problem 2MC
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Hypersensitivity reactions are also known as allergic reactions are the amplified immune response of the body towards harmless substances. Some allergic reaction can affect anyone but other reactions happen only to the individual with inherited trait of expressing amplified immune response. Immediate-reaction hypersensitivity is also known as type I hypersensitivity. Type I hypersensitivity is triggered by the allergens and the person becomes “sensitized” by generating a large amount of IgE in response to a particular allergen.
