Introduction:
Robert Koch was a German bacteriologist and physician. In 1890 he set out criteria for determining whether bacteria are an agent of a particular disease. He established criteria to discover a “causative relationship” between a bacterium and a disease. Koch postulates are used to identify the cause-and-effect relationship between the bacteria and particular clinical disease.
