Chapter 18, Problem 6MCQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Elek’s test is an immunodiffusion test which helps to detect the toxigenecity of diphtheria. A filter paper strip containing diphtheria antitoxin is placed on a solid culture medium. Then, bacteria are streaked through the right angle to the filter paper. If the bacteria are toxigenic, a line of antigen and antibody precipitate will form.
