Introduction:
Leukocytes protect the body from microbial, viral and parasitic infections, allergens, cancer-causing cells, and substances causing inflammation. They also scavenge dead and decaying cells and tissues. Leukocytes belong to the five different classes, which are distinguished functionally and morphologically with each class exhibiting complex internal structural differences.
