Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The advantage of the organization of the PDH complex is to be discussed.
Concept introduction:
The enzyme system pyruvate dehydrogenase complex is responsible for the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl part of acetyl-CoA.
The enzymes that complete the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex are pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH), dihydrolipoyl transacetylase, dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase, pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, and pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase.
The coenzymes involved are thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP), lipoic acid, and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)
