Chapter 19, Problem 5MCQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Vascular tissues, that are xylem and phloem, are responsible for the transportation of nutrients throughout the plant body. Xylem is associated with the transportation of water and minerals, whereas phloem is associated with the translocation of food.
Xylem consists of four parts; xylem vessels, tracheids, parenchyma, and xylem fibers. Phloem is a living tissue associated with the translocation of organic compound that is made during photosynthesis. Phloem consists of phloem parenchyma, phloem fibers, sieve tubes, and companion cells.
