The telescopes are put in orbit to avoid distortation due to the Earth’s atmosphere

Explanation of Solution

The atmosphere distorts the visible radiations. Due to many layers of atmosphere, light does not move and is reflected and refracted many times.

The atmosphere does not allow all components of the light radiation to pass through it. Ultravoilet rays, for example, cannot pass through the ozone layer of atmosphere.

Therefore, telescopes are put in the orbit to avoid light distortions done by the Earth’s atmosphere.
