Introduction:
The presence of the abnormal number of chromosomes in an individual may be the result of nondisjunction during meiosis. Nondisjunction is the failure of separation of homologous chromosomes during anaphase-I and the failure of separation of sister chromatids during anaphase-II of meiosis.
