Chapter 2, Problem 74P
* Two cars on a straight road at time zero are beside each other. The first car, traveling at speed 30 m/s, is passing the second car, which is traveling at 24 m/s. Seeing a cow on the road ahead, the driver of each car starts to slow down at 6.0 m/s2. Represent the motions of the cars mathematically and on a velocity-versus-time graph from the point of view of a pedestrian. Where is each car when it stops?

MT2: Match the given position vs time graph to the correct velocity vs time graph that represents the same motion. Don’t worry about matching exact times, just look for the right pattern. In a couple sentences or bullet points, describe a physical scenario for the motion (for example, using the motion of a person walking or a car driving).
A bus accelerated from rest to velocity of 18 m/s in 12seconds, then maintains that velocity for another 18 seconds, after which it slows uniformly to rest in 20 seconds:
a) Sketch an appropriate graph to describe the motion of the bus.
b) determine the acceleration of the bus for each of the three stages of the journey.
c) determine the total distance travelled and average speed of the bus for the overall journey.
Please include formulas
Two cars, A and B, start side by side and accelerate fromrest. The figure shows the graphs of their velocity functions.(a) Which car is ahead after one minute? Explain.(b) What is the meaning of the area of the shaded region?(c) Which car is ahead after two minutes? Explain.(d) Estimate the time at which the cars are again side by side.
