Summary Introduction

To determine:

The virulence factors in Gram negative bacteria which allow them to cause diseases.

Introduction:

Gram negative bacteria are the pathogens causing majority of diseases in humans. They can sustain life at 37℃ and can escape the immunity defenses of the host body.  They have an outer membrane containing lipooligosaccharides, composed of Lipid A and polysaccharides, which helps them to infect host cell and also provide antigenic properties. These bacteria have certain virulence factors such as capsules, fimbriae, exotoxins, iron binding compounds, haemolysin and a type III secretion system.
