Question
Chapter 20, Problem 4CC-P563
Summary Introduction
Introduction
Bello advanced an optimistic view of global governance in which deglobalization reduces the exploitation used by capitalism to extract natural resources. He described a utopian vision of disabling transnational corporations that enrich themselves at the expense of local populations. Pessimists feel that global governance is inevitable, and local governments will be co-opted or destroyed in the process. They suggest that the power of corporations will surpass the power of nation states, and the focus will only be on profit, while human rights will only be enjoyed by the rich.
