The structure of the mammalian heart is comprised of four chambers which include two auricles and two ventricles. The right auricle and ventricle carry deoxygenated blood whereas the left auricle and ventricle transport oxygenated blood. The left side of the heart transports oxygenated or oxygen rich blood throughout the body and the right side of the heart receives deoxygenated or oxygen-devoid blood from the body parts.
