Question
Chapter 21, Problem 21.21QP
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
The chemical equation for the given neutralization has to be written.
Concept introduction:
Chemical equation:
- To represent a
chemical reaction in a symbolic form is said to be chemical equation. - In this equation we can represent reactants in left-hand side of the arrow mark and products in right-hand side of the arrow mark.
- We can put coefficients before the reactants and products to balance the equation.
- The first chemical equation was given by Jean Beguin in 1615.
Neutralization:
- Neutralization is a chemical reaction in which an acid and base reacts in equal amounts with each other.
- Neutralization reaction indicates that there is no excess amount of hydrogen ion or hydroxide ion in the reaction solution.
