The nuclear transmutations involving neutrons are generally easier to accomplish than those involving protons or alpha particles is to be explained.
Concept introduction: The nuclear transmutation is a process to transform one element or isotope into another element or isotope by bombardment with high speed particles or neutrons. A nucleus also changes its identity when it is struck by a neutron or by another nucleus. The nuclear reactions performed in this way are known as nuclear transmutations.
