The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infects children and immunosuppressed adults. The infection occurs in the respiratory tract and lungs. Symptoms of this disease are dry cough, runny nose, sore throat, mild headache, and fever. Symptoms last for about 6 days. In severe cases, the RSV infects the lower respiratory tract and causes pneumonia.
