Chapter 22, Problem 15RQ
Are alkaloids found in nature?
Expert Solution & Answer
To determine
The alkaloid is naturally occurring or not.
Answer to Problem 15RQ
The alkaloid is found in nature.
Explanation of Solution
The alkaloid basically contains diverse and essential physiological effects over human as well as animals. Alkaloids are mainly the compounds that are containing nitrogen and functions as base. The nitrogen containing bases that occurs in nature are alkaloids. Some basic alkaloids are quinine, morphine etc. they are naturally occurring.
Thus, the alkaloid is a naturally occurring compound.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the alkaloid is found in nature.
