Introduction:

Salamanders exhibit a property of regeneration of entire complex structure after injury, including entire limbs, property absent in mammals. Limb regeneration depends on the formation of a blastema, from which the new appendage develops. Regeneration blastema is an aggregation of relatively undifferentiated cells derived from the originally differentiated tissue, which proliferates and redifferentiates into the new limb parts.
