Question
Chapter 22, Problem 4WIO
Summary Introduction
To determine:
The meaning of the term “double fertilization and the reason due to which it increases the reproductive success of the parent plant.”
Introduction:
Fertilization in plants is a process by which the haploid male and female gametophyte fuse with each other and give rise to a diploid zygote. The male gametophyte (pollen grains) is brought closer to the female gametophyte by pollination either carried out by wind or insects.
