Concept introduction:
Two (2) or more complexes having same molecular composition but with different physical and chemical properties are known as isomers. The stereoisomerism arises due to the different arrangement of the ligand associated with the metal in space. The stereo isomerism are of two types geometric or cis-, trans- isomers or fac- mer- isomers and optical isomer. The isomers which can rotate the plane of polarised light is called optical isomers.
