Comparative studies have shown DNA and proteins to be less versatile in comparison to RNA. During the origin of life on Earth, it is believed to be RNA dominant world. RNA world is believed to exist during the beginning of life on the earth. It is a hypothetical period where both, the information required for maintaining life and the catalytic activities inside a cell were present on RNA itself.
