Chapter 2.3, Problem 3MQ
Summary Introduction
The cell membrane is a phospholipid bilayer with a variety of proteins embedded in it. The phospholipids are made up of both hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-hating) components. Proteins that are loosely arranged in the membrane are referred to as peripheral proteins, while proteins that are specifically implanted in the membrane are referred to as integral proteins.
