Two parasitic fungi causing plant diseases on a massive scale in the United States forests and the taxonomic groups they belong to.

Introduction:

Most of the fungi are beneficial to the ecosystem. However, some fungi are pathogenic in nature. They infect humans, other animals, and plants. Most of the plants and animals are resistant to the fungi found in their ecosystem. However, when the fungi are introduced to a new environment, they can cause massive destruction due to lack of resistance in the host.
