Chapter 23.6, Problem 8AYLO
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
Methods of measuring a person’s GFR and renal clearance; ability to calculate these if given the necessary data.
Introduction:
In a day, a regular healthy adult passes 1 to 2 liters of urine. When urine excreted out is more than 2 liters, it can lead to polyuria or diuresis. Uptake of some drugs or fluids can also make an adult to pass 20 liters per day. The patients with diabetes also have polyuria called as oliguria. In the medical examination, urinalysis is the most important analysis, as it examines both the chemical and physical nature of the urine.
