The falciform ligament (sickle-shaped ligament) is situated on the left of the abdominal midline that runs across the anterior wall of the abdomen and the diaphragm. It is a fibrous structure. This ligament stretches from the base of the diaphragm located on the posterior side of the lining of the right rectus abdominis muscle.
