Introduction:
The oral cavity consists of teeth and tongue. The tongue helps in moving the food molecules and it also has various papillae and taste buds that can detect the sweet, sour and bitter taste of the food. Salivary glands are also present in the oral cavity that secretes salivary amylase which is involved in digesting the starch content of the food molecule. Teeth are basically involved in the chewing process that helps in breaking down large food molecules into its smaller form. There are various types of teeth according to their shape and location.
