Chapter 24, Problem 7TYU
Summary Introduction

Introduction: Hybrid offspring is produced when organisms of two species are mated. However, there are certain barriers that obstruct the mating of two species known as reproductive isolation. Allopatric speciation occurs when geographic isolation restricts the gene flow, whereas sympatric speciation does not occur due to geographic isolation and may be caused by certain mutation, natural or sexual selection. There will be three possible outcomes if closely-related species mate over time- reinforcement of barriers, fusion of species, and stability.
