Resonance structures are the valid Lewis structures of the same molecule with different positions of electrons.
They differ only in the position of electrons and not in the position of the atoms.
Octet rule states that apresence of maximum eight electrons in the valence shell should be fulfilled for the elements belonging to the second period of the periodic table.
